New Safety Initiative to Prevent Covid-19, Kiwi technology launched the Kiwi Air Safety CO2 Monitor smart IoT solution, which is the best measure for companies to respond to the Covid-19 virus infection. To realize “comprehensive protection” smart air quality monitoring and management service.

To adopt LPWA wireless communication technology LoRaTM  with a three-in-one sensor to detect temperature/humidity/CO2 concentration. The One-stop solution and cloud management platform AIoT SaaS and APP, allowing you to complete visualization & real-time monitoring, early warning and reporting on dedicated displays or monitor as well as web dashboards.

In response to the latest『Declaration of State of Emergency』 on the new Covid-19 pandemic issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Office of Japan on 8/17 last week, the administrative area required to be implemented requires the installation of carbon dioxide monitoring devices in business and workplaces to assess the ventilation quality.

Kiwi Technology launched and showcased the “Kiwi Air Safety CO2 Monitor”, a smart AIoT solution. Kiwi Air Safety CO2 Monitor is composed of three-in-one sensors (T/RH/CO2), warning indicator, LPWA wireless base stations, and displays/monitor. It is quick to install, simple to use, and easy to deploy a IoT network. It is commercialization for Japanese customers, using CO2 concentration to monitor indoor ventilation to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 virus, which may cause infections due to overcrowding of people.

CO2 is a greenhouse gas that is natural and harmless in small quantities. Most commonly produced indoors by the air we exhale, CO2 levels build up indoors with more people, more time, and less ventilation in a room. It’s important to monitor indoor air quality as high concentrations of CO2 can cause restlessness, drowsiness, headaches, and more.

At the same time, in order to prevent infection of the Covid-19, three measures must be taken to “reduce the density of people”, “avoid short-distance conversations and voices”, and “ventilate” people gathering spaces. Regarding “building or office/room ventilation”, without measuring the carbon dioxide concentration in the room, it is not clear how often ventilation should be performed. Generally, when the CO2 concentration exceeds 1,000 ppm, it is defined as an environment that requires ventilation. (According to the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Building Environmental Sanitation Management Standards)

The CO2 sensor can measure indoor CO2 concentration, temperature and humidity. The measurement data is stored on the cloud server and management by could based SaaS, and can be viewed on the web dashboard and physical display at any time, and the indoor ventilation and number of people can be restricted by referring to the CO2 concentration. Using LoRa LPWA wireless system, a gateway can cover a wider area than traditional Wi-Fi or BLE.

Kiwi Air Safety CO2 Monitor has begun to operate for top tier Japanese retailers. In the future, it is expected to expand to smart business districts, hospital, restaurant, supermarket, convenience store, public facilities, bank counters, schools, government agencies, gymnasiums, event venues, meeting room rentals, etc.
